Marquette – The Native American Student Association at Northern Michigan University will present a free concert by Keith Secola on Friday, March 11 at 7 p.m. in Vandament Arena on the NMU campus.
Secola is an award-winning Anishinaabe singer, songwriter, producer and musical artist. He has won seven Native American Music Awards and was inducted into the Native Music Hall of Fame. Secola is skilled with the guitar, flute, mandolin, banjo, harmonica and piano. Performances have included two Olympic Games, the Rockslide Festival, the Kennedy Center and the walls of the bottom of the Grand Canyon. Secola’s work has been featured in films and grassroots installations. He performs in reservation schools and rural communities, as well as national and international stages.
