Updated NAMI Educational Meeting February 29

Marquette, Michigan – The National Alliance on Mental Illness-Alger/Marquette offers confidential support groups and educational meetings for individuals living with mental illness, and friends or families living with an individual with mental illness.

An exciting educational meeting will be held Monday, February 29 at 7:00pm in the Nonprofit Commons Conference Room, 129 West Baraga Avenue, Marquette. Two subjects will be addressed: the proposed privatization of Michigan’s mental health services, and a proposed Clubhouse in our area.

Lucy Wilcox of NorthCare Network will examine the governor’s privatization proposal. And three speakers (one involved with a Clubhouse in Petoskey; a consumer; and a NAMI board member) will address the proposed Clubhouse, a community mental health center open to people living with mental illness.

For more information call 906-360-7107, or visit www.namiam.org.

In case of bad weather, if NMU cancels evening classes, the NAMI meeting will also be cancelled.
