Marquette – Author John Smolens will read and discuss his newest novel, “Wolf’s Mouth” on Wednesday, March 2 at 7 p.m. in the Shiras Room of the Peter White Public Library.
Recently published by Michigan State University Press, “Wolf’s Mouth” is set in 1944, when Italian officer Captain Francesco Verdi is captured by Allied forces in North Africa and shipped to a POW camp in Michigan’s U.P. The camp is ruled by Kommandant Vogel, the senior POW who demands that all prisoners adhere to his Nazi dictates.
