A Boating Skills and Seamanship Course will begin on Wednesday, January 16 and run through April 9 at the U.S. Coast Guard Station Portage in Dollar Bay. Classes will be from 7 to 9 p.m. and the course is for beginners as well as the seasoned boater who would like additional knowledge. Most insurance companies allow an annual 10 percent discount on boat insurance upon completion of the course.The fee is $30 which includes course material and a book which each attendee keeps.
