Marquette – The Building Hope in Uncertain Times series will offer a concert with pianist Nancy Railey and five poets titled “The Poet of the Piano: Poetry in Words and the Music of Frederic Chopin” on Thursday, January 14 at 7 p.m. in the Community Room of the Peter White Public Library.
Celebrating the beauty and connection between poetry and music, pianist Nancy Royce Railey will perform Romantic Era composer, Frédéric Chopin’s 24 piano preludes interspersed with original work read by five contemporary poets.
The poets reading their works in the concert are residents of Marquette or have ties in the community. They are Esther Barrington, Jessica Finstrom, Kathleen Heideman, Beverly Matherne, and Russell Thorburn
The Building Hope program series offers a variety of events to encourage and work toward positive change within our community. There is no admission charge to the event.
