Gwinn – The Forsyth Township Historical Society will present “Upper Peninsula Beer” featuring guest speaker, retired Northern Michigan University history professor Russell Magnaghi, on Thursday, November 12 at 7 p.m. in the Gwinn High School library.
The program will cover the history of brewing beer in the U.P. from French-Canadian spruce needle beer in the 1600’s, through the German brewers of the 19th & 20th century, to the recent emergence of craft breweries.
Admission is free for Society members and students, and $2 for all others. Refreshments will be served. Attendees are asked to use the front entrance to the school, nearest the flagpole.
