Marquette, Michigan – October 26, 2015 – On October 16 2015, the Marquette Regional History Center received a 1923 Dodge Brothers touring car. The generous donation is currently on display in the main gallery.
The car was donated by Joe and Elaine Drobny, long time car enthusiasts, who purchased the car over 70 years ago. Joe has driven the car in countless local parades over the years.
This model of car, made from 1915-1924 with only minor changes, was a reliable, no-nonsense car. While many cars were loud, temperamental or relied on styling for sales, the Dodge Brothers made cars with a quiet starter which didn’t make any fashion statements. These quality made cars were the second best-selling car in the U.S. for five years.
The car may be seen in the main gallery during regular hours with the price of admission.
