NMU Participates in Make a Difference Day – Oct. 24

Marquette, Michigan October 22, 2015 – “Make a Difference Day,” a nationwide event that celebrates neighbors helping neighbors and the power of all individuals to improve someone’s life, will be held on Saturday, Oct. 24.  The Northern Michigan University Volunteer Center is coordinating the event locally. Volunteers assist area seniors with outdoor tasks such as raking and other yard work, washing windows and routine fall maintenance.

It is estimated that 700-900 volunteers will participate. The NMU students and community volunteers will check in at 8 a.m. at NMU’s University Center before heading to their assigned locations in area communities.
