NMU Seeks Subjects for Acute Walking Study – Sept. 30

Marquette, MichiganSeptember 30, 2015 –  Northern Michigan University’s School of Health and Human Performance is seeking participants ages 55-69 for a study on the effect of altitude on gait and balance performance. The aim is to see if fit, older individuals are less likely to lose their balance in a hypoxic state versus unfit participants.

Researchers are looking for both fit individuals who exercise three to seven times per week for 150 minutes or more, and individuals who exercise fewer than two times per week. The required time commitment is three lab visits , each lasting 60-90 minutes, over a period of one to three weeks.
