Michigamme, Michigan – September 24, 2015 – “THREE MUSES” features artwork by Laura Stahl Maze, Elizabeth Evensen, and Christine Groleau. The exhibit will run from October 1st-November 7th. There will be a Sunday Afternoon Reception on Sunday, October 4th from 2PM-4PM at the Michigamme Moonshine Art Gallery in downtown Michigamme. Refreshments will be served.

Historically, the Three Muses symbolized knowledge, the arts, and most importantly, the creative impulse.
The new show at Michigamme Moonshine Art Gallery features three artists who have encouraged and influenced each other in life as well as art. Shared experiences and regular contact over time has kept these ‘Three Muses’ together for decades.
Laura Stahl Maze has been successfully involved in art for more than thirty years. Through mixed media and paintings, she continues to develop her potential for expression. Her new work incorporates different elements that are a little more representational but still abstract. Never afraid to try new techniques, some of Maze’s latest work joins together vivid paints with metallic elements.
Elizabeth Evensen’s new work explores patterns by manipulating images to create new hue structures. The artist will also debut innovative direct paintings that reveal her creative feelings and imagination in mixed media. Always diverse and surprising, Evensen’s artwork demonstrates her interest in her subject matter and materials.
Christine Groleau paints watercolors of nature: landscapes, flora, and her local environment. Her work shows a familiar attachment to the land as she gets viewers to feel a pleasing sense of contentment. Like the other ‘Muses’, Groleau’s work shows her strength and abilities.
