Marquette, Michigan – September 23, 2015 – The Western Marquette County Health Foundation awarded $60,000 in grant monies on Thursday, September 17th to four Western Marquette County School Districts and the Upper Peninsula Diabetes Outreach Network (UPDON).
The school districts consist of Ishpeming Public Schools, Negaunee Public Schools, NICE Community Schools, and Republic/Michigamme School District.
The four school districts each received $12,500.
UPDON received $10,000 as part of a matching grant from money raised by swimmers who participated in the annual Teal Lake Swim for Diabetes in July.
