Calendar – Films/Documentaries – “The Power of the Powerless” Film Screening – Oct. 19

Marquette – The Building Hope in Uncertain Times series will offer a screening of the
documentary film “The Power of the Powerless” on Monday, October 19 at 7 p.m. in the Community Room of the Peter White Public Library.

The film explores Czechoslovakia’s legacy of communist rule and the struggle against it. From the iron-fisted Stalinist government of the 1950s, through the vibrant and politically active Prague Spring of the 1960s, the hard-line backlash of the 1970s, and finally the bloodless revolution of 1989.

Released in 2009, the film runs for 89 minutes. There is no admission charge.
