Marquette – The Building Hope in Uncertain Times series will offer a screening of the film “God Grew Tired Of Us” on Tuesday, September 29
at 7 p.m. in the Community Room of the Peter White Public Library.
The film chronicles the arduous journey of three young Southern Sudanese men, John, Daniel and Panther, who with a group of some 25,000 others became known as the Lost Boys of the Sudan and are forced to walk a thousand miles to escape their war-ridden homeland in
the 1980’s.
In 2001, 3,600 lost boys, were invited by the United States to live in America. Assisted by Catholic Charities International, John, Daniel and Panther uproot their lives and once again embark on a journey,
leaving behind thousands of other refugees who, in the course of their traumatic odyssey, have become their adopted extended family.
Released in 2007, “God Grew Tired Of Us” is rated PG and runs for 89 minutes. There is no admission charge. The Building Hope program series offers a variety of events to inspire, encourage and create positive change within our community.
