Calendar – Films/Documentaries – Vintage Cinema to Screen “Oklahoma” – Sept. 14

Marquette – Vintage Cinema will offer a screening of “Oklahoma!” on Monday, September 14 at 1:30 p.m.in the Community Room of the Peter White Public Library.

This Oscar winning romantic musical is set in the Oklahoma territory at the turn of the twentieth century where two young cowboys vie with an evil ranch hand and a traveling peddler for the hearts of the women they love.

Released in 1955, “Oklahoma” is based on the 1943 stage musical written by composer Richard Rodgers and lyricist/librettist Oscar Hammerstein II. The film is shown in color and runs for 145 minutes.
