Skiing and Snowboarding Greats are Coming to Ishpeming September 18th-19th

(Ishpeming, Michigan) – Skiing and Snowboarding Greats are Coming to Ishpeming

Snow may still be a few months away, but several of America’s best skiers and snowboarders will be coming to Ishpeming, Michigan, September 18.
“I never miss a chance to meet ski and snowboard heroes,” says Frida Waara from Marquette. “The Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony last April in Steamboat Springs, Colorado, was a night to remember, but I’m really looking forward to welcoming these new heroes to Ishpeming. There’s no better way to kick off the ski season.”
The latest class of Honored Members will share their inspiring stories at the Hall of Fame during the annual Enshrinement Reception Friday, September 18. The free event concludes their induction in the Class of 2014.
The celebration continues Saturday, September 19, with the Ishpeming Kiwanis Welcome Breakfast at St. John’s Church Hall, followed by the Coy Hill Memorial Golf Outing at the Wawonowin Golf club, and culminating with the Enshrinement Banquet at the Red Rocks Banquet Hall.
“The weekend has become very special to our new Honored Members,” says Tom West, President and CEO of the Hall of Fame. “They get to visit the museum, but even more important, they get to meet the people and learn about the place where it all started.” Recognized as the birthplace of organized skiing in America, Ishpeming has been home to the national ski museum for 60 years.
For details and tickets call 906 485-6323 or visit www.skihall.com.
