Marquette, Michigan – January 13, 2017 – The Marquette Symphony Orchestra’s first Chamber Music Collage Concert will be presented by MSO musician-volunteers to celebrate and support the 20th Anniversary year.
Small ensembles have been formed to present a collage with a flute quintet, string ensembles, a tuba quartet, an Afro-Cuban ensemble and more – all within two 30-minute non-stop music halves. Janis Peterson, MSO’s concertmaster and organizer of this event, says, “Orchestra members are excited about this concert and have prepared a delightful mix of fun and serious selections. The event provides a unique opportunity for the musicians to perform chamber music and the collage format will make it a special treat for the audience, too.”
The concert will be performed at NMU Reynolds Recital Hall at 7:30 pm on Saturday, January 14. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students, and are available at the door only.
Funding for the Marquette Symphony Orchestra is provided in part by the Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs and the National Endowment for the Arts. The orchestra is an equal opportunity organization.
