Calendar – Education – “What is a Managed Forest” Presentation – Aug. 13

Champion – The Marquette Regional History Center, in collaboration with Woodland Offshoots Programming Series, will offer “What is a Managed Forest?” on Thursday, August 13 at 1 p.m. at Longyear Forest outside Champion.

Tour the Longyear Forest with Forest Operations Manager Tim Schneider and learn about how trees are selected, what kind of habitat is created and what methods of harvesting are used. Dress according to weather, as you will be hiking through forested areas.

Register at MRHC by calling 226-3571, or stop by during regular operating hours. This is a free event, but pre-registration is required. Maps to the forest are available at MRHC.
