Calendar – Community – U.P. Company Towns Program – July 22

Gwinn – The Forsyth Township Historical Society will present “Company Towns: A U.P. Perspective” on Wednesday, July 22 at 7 p.m. at the Gwinn Clubhouse on Maple Street in Gwinn.

Guest speaker Christian Holmes, retired librarian and dean at Bay de Noc Community College in Escanaba and author of the recent book “Company Towns of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula”, will discuss his book and some of the unique and amusing findings from it.

Admission is free for Society members and students, and $2 for all others. Refreshments will be served.

This will be the annual meeting of the Historical Society and there will be a very brief meeting to elect members to the Society’s Board of Trustees prior to the program. The program is held in conjunction with the Forsyth Township Public Library.
