Marquette -The 7th Annual Marquette Sunrise Dog Dash will be held on Saturday, July 4, rain or shine, at beginning with registration at 7:30 a.m. at Picnic Rocks in Marquette. The Dog Dash will start at 8:30 a.m.
The run/walk offers distances of either 2.5 miles or 1 mile. Locally handcrafted engraved plaques will be presented to the fastest overall male and female dog owner, as well as to the fastest boy and girl (age 12 and under) in both events. A dog costume contest with prizes will be awarded immediately following the run/walk–with engraved plaques presented to 1st through 3rd and ribbons to 8th place.
Registration is $15 and includes a festive bandana while supplies last. Printable entry forms are available at upaws.org/event/marquette-sunrise-dog-dash. All proceeds will go to help the homeless animals cared for by UPAWS each year. For more information call 475-6661.
