Marquette – A variety of hands-on, project-based summer camps will be offered at Northern Michigan University’s Jacobetti Complex for students in grades 7 to 12. Students will be able to explore careers in cosmetology, welding, building technology, culinary arts, crime scene investigation, bicycle repair/maintenance and small engines.
On Thursday, July 16 from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. the following classes will be offered:
Bicycle repair and maintenance – offered in conjunction with Revolutions – campers are encouraged to bring their bikes to class, where they will do tune-ups and make repairs. Also offered will be Small engines – learn the basic fundamentals of internal combustion engines and how to change oil, do a tune-up and maintain a lawn mower.
The cost for each session is $60. To register for a camp or for more information, contact NMU’s continuing education and workforce development department at 227-2103.
