Marquette – A variety of hands-on, project-based summer camps will be offered at Northern Michigan University’s Jacobetti Complex for students in grades 7 to 12. Students will be able to explore careers in cosmetology, welding, building technology, culinary arts, crime scene investigation, bicycle repair/maintenance and small engines.
On Wednesday, July 15 from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. the following classes will be offered:
Culinary arts – learn cooking skills from NMU hospitality management professor Chris Kibit; and Crime scene investigation – investigate a staged crime scene and learn how to dust for fingerprints, take pictures and examine for clues.
The cost for each session is $60. To register for a camp or for more information, contact NMU’s continuing education and workforce development department at 227-2103.
