Negaunee – April, 2015 — UPAWS (Upper Peninsula Animal Welfare Shelter) will host its annual Cause for Paws fundraiser on Saturday, April 25, at the Great Lakes Room, NMU, Marquette. Cause for Paws includes a dinner, silent auction, bucket raffles and a 50/50. Tickets are $50 and are available at UPAWS, Mares-Z-Doats, or online at eventbrite.com.
Last year’s event generated nearly $10,000 for the shelter and this year the committee for Cause for Paws is hoping to increase that amount. Cause for Paws is one of the larger fundraisers held each year for the shelter.
“The community support that we receive is phenomenal and our fundraisers play a dual role for us. Not only do they bring us additional funds for our operation, but they also provide a venue to celebrate the bond between people and their pets” said Lynn Andronis, UPAWS board member and Cause for Paws chairperson. “Cause for Paws is one of our top fundraisers and we encourage everyone to come out to this year. We have many silent auction items and bucket raffles, it’s going to be a great and fun event.”
