MARQUETTE, MI – Books to Movies Film Fest: The Princess BrideIn honor of National Library Week Peter White Public Library invites film fans to a spring break celebration of award winning films inspired by well loved books from April 7 through April 9 at 3:00pm daily in the library’s Community room.
National Library Week is a time to celebrate the contributions of our nation’s libraries and librarians and to promote library use and support. All types of libraries – school, public, academic and special – participate.
On Thursday, April 9 the final screening of the festival will be The Princess Bride, the 1987 adventure/comedy of the classic fairy tale, with swordplay, giants, an evil prince, a beautiful princess, and yes, some kissing (as read by a kindly grandfather). The multiple award winner is based on the book by William Goldman, stars Cary Elwes, Mandy Patinkin and Robin Wright, is rated PG and runs for 90 minutes.
Viewers are welcome to bring their own snacks and enjoy the Blu-ray versions of the feature films, in a cafe setting.
There is no admission charge thanks to sponsorship by the Friends of the Peter White Public Library. For more information visit www.pwpl.info or call 226-4318.
