Shakespeare Readers – “Coriolanus” by William Shakespeare on Wednesday, April 1

MARQUETTE – Shakespeare Readers will read “Coriolanus” by William Shakespeare on Wednesday, April 1 at 6:30 pm in the Peter White Public Library’s Shiras Room .

This tragedy, written about 1605, is based on the life of the legendary Roman leader Caius Marcius Coriolanus. Coriolanus was successful against various uprisings challenging the government of Rome and then became active in politics. His temperament was unsuited for popular leadership and he was quickly deposed. The alliances he forges to achieve his own ends result in his ultimate downfall and death.

Shakespeare Readers is a group for anyone who is intrigued with reading aloud the works of William Shakespeare. They meet on the first Wednesday of each month and new readers are always welcome.
