Calendar – Films/Documentaries – Vintage Cinema to Screen “West Side Story” – Apr. 6

Marquette – Vintage Cinema will present a screening of “West Side Story” starring Natalie Wood, Richard Beymer and Rita Moreno on
Monday, April 6 at 1:30 p.m. in the Community Room of the Peter White Public Library.

Directed by two time Oscar winner Robert Wise, this romantic musical drama was adapted from the Broadway show and was inspired by Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet. The film is set in New York City in the mid-1950s, and explores the rivalry between two teenage street gangs of different ethnic backgrounds.

Released in 1961, “West Side Story” is rated PG, shown in color and runs for 152 minutes. There is no admission charge. For more information, call 226-4316 or visit www.pwpl.info.
