Escanaba, MI – A Diabetes education program for people with Medicare is being offered at UPCAP in Escanaba beginning on March 6th, 2015. There is a daily challenge of living with diabetes. This program provides the skills and tools needed by people living with Type 2 diabetes to improve their health and manage their symptoms. As a result, people are better equipped to face day to day issues that come with managing diabetes. Subjects covered include: symptoms of diabetes, stress, managing fatigue and emotional problems, exercise, healthy eating, medications, and working with health care providers.
The program will be held on Friday mornings for six weeks, from 9-11:30 a.m., and is for people with Medicare Part B. The program includes individual and group education sessions with a Diabetes Educator and Registered Dietitian. Class size is limited and pre registration is required- family/caregivers are welcome.
