Marquette – Readers Theater will meet for a reading of “Same Time, Next Year ” by Bernard Slade on Thursday, February 19 at 7 p.m. in the Shiras Room of the Peter White Public Library.
This play is a comedy about New Jersey accountant, George and Oakland housewife, Doris who meet at a northern California inn in February 1951. They have an affair and agree to meet once a year, despite the fact both are married to others and have six children between them. The romantic tryst continues for 24 years.
Readers Theater is a group of adults who are interested in drama and are willing and able to read a scripted role. They meet on the third Thursday of each month to read plays for enjoyment. New readers are always welcome.
