(MT. PLEASANT, Mich.) – As temperatures continue to dip, thousands of brave Michiganders are preparing to once again take a dip into icy water for a great cause as part of the annual Michigan Law Enforcement Torch Run Polar Plunge for Special Olympics Michigan.
The first Polar Plunges of 2015 take place next week with 27 more plunges to follow every weekend through March 14. From Detroit to St. Joseph and Jackson to Marquette, it’s hard not to find a Polar Plunge happening near you this winter.
Proceeds from these plunges help support year-round sports training and athletic competition for nearly 21,000 children and adults with intellectual disabilities in Michigan. But we are so much more than sport. Athletes have the opportunity to experience respect, inclusion, friendship and joy. We also provide programs like Young Athletes, Project UNIFY and Unified Sports. Special Olympics Michigan has achieved a four star Charity Navigator rating with 78.9% of our fundraising going right into our programs.

Once registered, you can set up an online pledge page and receive pledge donations for Special Olympics Michigan and keep track of money raised.
