Marquette, MI-December 18, 2014-CineArts Films at Peter White Public Library, a series devoted to foreign and independent films, presents the movie Wadjda on Friday, January 9 at 7:00 p.m. in the Community Room.
Wadjda, a fun loving, 10-year-old girl living in a suburb of Riyadh, has her heart set on a beautiful green
bicycle. Even though her mother wont allow it, Wadjda is determined to fight for her dreams and raise the money to buy it herself.
Wadjda is not only the first feature length film made by a female Saudi director, it is also the first feature length film shot entirely in Saudi Arabia. 2012. In Arabic with English subtitles. 2012. 98 minutes. Free admission.
