Marquette – The public is invited to a free screening of the modern classic film “In the Name of the Father” on Thursday, January 22 at 6:30 p.m. in the Community Room of the Peter White Public Library.
This historic drama is based on a true story of an Irishman’s coerced confession to an IRA bombing he did not commit. The confession results in the imprisonment of his father as well. An English lawyer fights to free them. The film screenplay was adapted from the autobiography “Proved Innocent: The Story of Gerry Conlon of the Guildford Four.”
The film was released in 1993, is rated R and runs for 133 minutes. Light refreshments will be served. There is no admission charge thanks to sponsorship by the Friends of the Peter White Public Library.
