Marquette – A Victorian Christmas will be held on Wednesday, December 17 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Marquette Regional History Center on Spring Street in Marquette.
The Victorian era really made the celebration of Christmas something special. Mistletoe, exchanging gifts, caroling, sending greeting cards were all traditions adopted by the Victorians.
“The Celebration Ringers”, a hand bell choir from the First United Methodist Church will be ringing Christmas carols from 6:00 to 6:45 p.m. Come and listen and join in singing, followed by a reading at 7 p.m. by Jessica “Red” Bays of “Twas The Night Before Christmas.” There will be great smells, a few tastes, a chance to make a Victorian ornament and be sure to check out the Victorian exhibit in the special exhibit gallery.
The event is free and open to the public, donations are always welcome.
