MARQUETTE, Mich. — Fiction writer and playwright Monica McFawn will read from her work at 7:30 p.m. Thursday Oct. 9, in the Marquette/Nicolet rooms of the University Center. The event is free and open to the public. She is a guest of Northern Michigan University’s Visiting Writer Program.
McFawn teaches writing at Grand Valley State University. Her work has appeared in publications including Georgia Review, Gargoyle and NMU’s Passages North. McFawn’s manuscript, Bright Shards of Someplace Else, was awarded the 2013 Flannery O’Connor Award for Short Fiction from University of Georgia Press.
