Silver Creek Disc Golf Course Grand Opening September 28th

Marquette, MI – Please join Chocolay Township, Silver Creek Church, and the UP Disc Golf Association as we present the grand opening of the newly designed and expanded Silver Creek Disc Golf Course on Sunday September 28. This new course winds throughout the woods of the Silver Creek Recreation Area and Silver Creek Church off Silver Creek Road in Harvey. You’ll find another fantastic addition to the Marquette disc golf scene with brand new equipment and two sets of skill based tees on 18 holes of mostly wooded and gently rolling ridge course topography. This course offers a great compliment to the Powder Mill course by being much shorter in length but requiring accurate throws through the tight technical wooded fairways. With 17 of the 18 holes being predominantly wooded, the property also offers a welcome respite from the hot summer sun, and also beautiful shades of turning leaves in the fall.

There will be a fun and laid back disc golf tournament known as an Ace Race. Far from your typical disc golf outing, the Ace Race contains no frustrating putting and no double bogies, just shortened holes and a bunch of people having fun trying to sink as many hole-in-ones as possible.

This event is geared towards all ages and abilities. Every player receives a player’s pack with paid entry (containing 2 brand new discs and a ton of cool Discraft merchandise).

The opening ceremonies and tournament offer an excellent opportunity to come learn more about the course, talk to those who spent hundreds of hours working to create this opportunity for all the local residents, and even get started playing for the first time by registering for the Ace Race and receiving a players package valued at over $60 of new merchandise for just $25!  More info can be found on the facebook page, www.facebook.com/DiscDaUP.
