Calendar – Groups – Shakespeare Readers to Meet – Sept. 3

Marquette – Shakespeare Readers will meet for a reading of “Love’s Labor’s Lost” on Wednesday, September 3 at 6:30 p.m. in the Shiras Room of the Peter White Public Library.

Believed to have been written for a performance for Queen Elizabeth in 1590, the comic play’s central characters are the King of Navarre and his 3 friends who, attempting 3 years of study and fasting, try to avoid the company of women. In spite of their best efforts they become infatuated with the Princess of Aquitaine and her ladies.

Shakespeare Readers is a group for anyone who is intrigued with reading the works of William Shakespeare. They meet on the first Wednesday of each month and new readers are always welcome. For more information call 226-4318 or visit www.pwpl.info.
