September Smallworks Exhibit: Weaving Crossroads

MARQUETTE, MICHIGAN – The City of Marquette Arts and Culture Center announces its September SmallWorks exhibition, Weaving Crossroads: New Fibers and Old Traditions by the Yarnwinders Fiber Guild of Marquette. This exhibit is composed of contemporary hand weaving using traditional and non-traditional fibers and various mediums.

The Yarnwinders have been a group for over 65 yearswith a purpose to promote the knowledge and practice of contemporary hand weaving. They have participated in demonstrations around Marquette including school presentations, community events, and fundraisers.

The show will be running from Sept. 1 to Sept. 28, and there will be an artist reception on Thursday, Sept. 4 from 6 to 8 p.m.
