First United Methodist Church (FUMC) in Marquette will be hosting its third annual community block party on Sunday, August 10, 2014 from 3:00pm to 6:00pm. The party will be held in the parking lot of the church, located at 111 East Ridge Street across from the Landmark Inn.
There will be bouncy houses provided by Abracadabra Jumps, games and prizes for kids of all ages, live music featuring local praise bands from First United Methodist Church and Grace United Methodist Church. Free food and snacks and Marquette’s Police Department will have units available for kids to learn about safety and the K9 units.
“We’re very excited to hold this event for our neighbors and the community,” said Rev. Kristi Hintz, First United Methodist Church. “Community outreach is a huge part of our church. This is a great way for visitors to learn more about us and have a fun-filled family day.”
First United Methodist Church is one of the oldest churches in Marquette. The building was built in 1873. A special tour of this historic building will be held at 4:00pm. Visitors are encouraged to take a tour and learn about the history of FUMC and the community. The tour is barrier free.
This event is free to the public.
