Marquette – Peter White Public Library’s Film Club invites the public to a free screening of the modern classic film “Philadelphia” on Thursday,
August 21 at 6:30 p.m. in the library’s Community Room.
Inspired, in part, by the true life experiences of attorney, Geoffrey Bowers and client, Clarence B, Cain, this film is the story of a man with AIDS who is fired by his law firm because of his condition. He hires a homophobic small time lawyer as the only willing advocate for a wrongful dismissal suit.
“Philadelphia” was released in 1993, is rated PG-13 and runs for 125 minutes. Light refreshments will be served. There is no admission charge. For more information visit
