Marquette – Documentary film fans are invited to view the film “Where Soldiers Come From” and meet the film’s producer/director on Monday, August 12 at 7 p.m. in the Community Room of the Peter White Public Library.
From a snowy small town in the U.P. to the mountains of Afghanistan and back, the film follows the four-year journey of childhood friends, forever changed by a faraway war. “Where Soldiers Come From” is an intimate look at the young men who fight our wars and the families and town they come from, going beyond the guns and policies of an ongoing war to tell a human story about family, friendship, and community and how they all change when young people go off to fight.
Producer/director Heather Courtney will lead a question and answer session after the screening of the film. The event is open to the public and has no admission charge. For more information call the Peter White Public Library at 226-4318 or visit
