The Marquette Regional History Center Presents Marquette the Frisbee Sanctuary July 30

(Marquette, Michigan) – The sport of Frisbee goes back nearly 50 years in Marquette and the city was designated an official Frisbee Sanctuary back in 1975 by Wham-O Manufacturing Co. the maker of the Frisbee. Recently a new disc golf course has opened with a second course potentially on the way. The annual Guts Frisbee Tournament is growing in popularity. Steve DesJardins will take a historical look back on the sport. We will pay tribute to local Frisbee activist Craig “Buck” Buchanan, who recently passed away. Our deepest sympathy goes out to Buck’s family and friends. There is a $5 Suggested donation for this event, for more information please visit www.marquettehistory.org, like us on Facebook or call 906-226-3571.
