Holiday Art Sale Application Deadline September 5th

MARQUETTE, MICHIGAN – The City of Marquette Arts and Culture Center announces its 2014 Holiday Art Sale, which will be held on Saturday, November 22, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. This holiday sale is open to artists in all media: painting, photography, fibers, glass, jewelry, metals, wearable art, etc. This is a juried show that will not accept any kit, import, country craft or resale items. Artwork for sale must be made by the artist. Applications are available online or can be picked up at the MACC, which is located in the lower level of the Peter White Public Library, at 217 N. Front Street in Marquette.

To be considered for the jurying process artist are asked to submit the following: ? A self-addressed stamped envelope ? Six photographs, or digital media (disc, jump drive, etc.) of their artwork (these images must be a representative of what the artist will be selling at the sale.) ? Please mail artist images along with the application and payment to the City of Marquette Arts and Culture Center at 300 W. Baraga Ave, Marquette MI 49855, or hand deliver artist images, application and payment to the center at 217 N. Front Street, Marquette, Mich. ? The 2014 Holiday Art Sale application deadline is Friday September 5, 2014. E-mail submissions will not be accepted.

Failure to abide by the above listed criteria will result in disqualification from jurying process. Listed below is the set pricing for booth size and space. – The cost for a 10’x6’ booth space is $65.00. – The cost for a 6’x6’ booth space is $45.00. – If you require a table with your booth they can be reserved for $7.00 each (6’x3’). The City of Marquette Arts and Culture Center cannot guarantee artist that they will be receiving the same booth or location as previous year participation. At this time there will be no double booths granted this year. If work displayed during the Holiday Art Sale is not representative of the work juried, the artist will be asked to remove that work. Set up time will take place on Friday, November 21 from noon to 6 p.m. and Saturday, November 22 from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m.

Every artist will be responsible for the collection of the six percent Michigan sales tax and for conducting their own sales transactions. Artist will be notified with jury decisions by Friday September 19, 2014.
