ESCANABA, MICHIGAN – The Nation’s biggest trapping and outdoors show is coming to Escanaba, Michigan. The 55th Annual National Trappers Convention/Outdoors Show will take place July 24-27, 2014 at the U.P. State Fairground.
There will be many trapping and other outdoor experts on hand giving demos every hour throughout the event. Included in the huge list of presenters is well known predator caller; Les Johnson Les hails from Nebraska where once, when asked what his goal in life was, Les replied “I want to be one of the best coyote callers in the world”. He has certainly achieved that goal. In 1999, he won the Triple Crown of coyote calling winning the Midwest, National and World Championships! His résumé includes his being ranked in the top 5 in 30+ calling competitions in the past 15 years. Along with this, the Sportsman’s Channel has awarded Les with numerous awards for his T.V show Predator Quest the first ever television series strictly dedicated to predator calling/hunting. Many will find him familiar, having watched his show and his videos. Les films and produces 26 episodes per year. Also he has produced action packed, adrenaline pumping videos on calling and hunting the coyote.
Predator hunters and trappers alike will enjoy Les’ presentations. He will share his techniques, methods and tips on set-up, wind direction calls, etc. All of those interested are in for an opportunity to gain valuable lessons form Les, thus shortening the learning curve to successful predator calling. He will be available to talk with and answer questions throughout the convention. “We are proud and excited to bring such a big name outdoorsman to our event, he is sure to draw some big crowds.” stated Jim Fornetti longtime member of the U.P Trappers Organization.
Along with the hourly presentations, there will be something for everyone in the family to enjoy at the event. Events for kids will be available and dealers, quilters, woodworkers, jewelry making and hundreds of other exhibits will be happening during this event. There will even be a dance on Saturday night featuring the band Runaway Train, and a Fur Fashion Show is planned.
Trappers and outdoorsmen and women will see more outdoor equipment, inventions and other gear than they can imagine. It will be a great place for some really good bargains as hundreds of vendors will be on hand.
