Westwood High School Hires Rae Drake to be next Head Boys’ Basketball Coach

Westwood High School hires Rae Drake to be the next head boys’ basketball coach. Coach Drake brings 30+ years of coaching experience at all levels of basketball, including assisting with the men’s and women’s programs at Michigan Tech, as well as assisting with the women’s program at Northern Michigan University. Coach Drake has previously coached high school basketball at West Iron County High School, as the head boys’ basketball coach, and prior to that at Iron Mountain High School. Coach Drake has coached 7 conference championship teams, and 2 district championship teams.

“We are looking forward to working with Coach Drake, his experience and knowledge will be an asset to our student athletes and coaching staff. Coach Drake brings a hardnosed, intense approach to the game of basketball, and that is something our program needs right now.” Westwood Athletic Director Jon Beckman.
