CHICAGO – Amtrak is adding trains to support more travel on Sundays and Mondays this summer in Michigan — from May 19 to Aug. 31 — while improving the infrastructure in West Michigan.
In order for maintenance crews to accomplish track and signal improvements in the shortest time, Amtrak is temporarily modifying schedules. The largest change affects the schedule of Train 365, the Blue Water, westbound from Port Huron. Please see the attached Amtrak Passenger Service Notice for details for some other significant schedule modifications.
Wolverine Service customers will benefit from an additional eastbound trip on most Sundays and an additional westbound trip on most Mondays during the period. The track work, including the replacement of 44,000 crossties, will result in improved reliability and a smoother ride when finished by Sept. 1.
