UPAWS Hosts annual Cause for Paws Fundraiser May 17th

Negaunee – May 5, 2014 — UPAWS (Upper Peninsula Animal Welfare Shelter) will host its annual Cause for Paws fundraiser on Saturday, May 17, 2014 at the Holiday Inn in Marquette. Cause for Paws includes a large hors d’oeuvre menu, silent auction, bucket raffles and a 50/50. Tickets are $50 and are available at UPAWS, Mares-z-Doats, the Pet Stop or online at C4Paws2014.eventbrite.com.

Last year’s event generated nearly $10,000 for the shelter and this year the committee for Cause for Paws is hoping to increase that amount. Cause for Paws is one of the larger fundraisers held each year for the shelter.

“Cause for Paws is a wonderful event designed to bring people together for the love of animals and to support the shelter,” said Jennifer Huetter, UPAWS board member and Cause for Paws chairperson. “Our community has always been supportive of UPAWS and we are greatly appreciative for their support. We encourage everyone to come out to this year’s fundraiser. We have many silent auction items and bucket raffles, it’s going to be a great event.”
