MARQUETTE, MICHIGAN – In celebration of May as Mental Health month, the Peter White Public Library presents a public screening of the multi-award winning film “The Perks of Being a Wallflower” on Monday, April 28 at 5:30pm in the library’s Community Room.
Starring Logan Lerman, Emma Watson and Ezra Miller, the romantic drama is based on the novel of the same name written by Stephen Chbosky. Fifteen year-old Charlie, an endearing and naive outsider, coping with first love, the suicide of his best friend, and his own mental illness struggles to find a group of people with whom he belongs. The introvert freshman is taken under the wings of two seniors, Sam and Patrick, who welcome him to the real world.
“The Perks of Being a Wallflower” was released in 2012, is rated PG-13 and runs 102 minutes.
