MARQUETTE, MICHIGAN – The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program (VITA) is a unique and free opportunity designed to help citizens of Marquette and the surrounding areas with their federal income taxes. Qualified Beta Alpha Psi members will electronically file basic returns for wage earners of under $52,000 per year.
There will be two convenient locations for the VITA program. One location is the Marquette Room on the second floor of the University Center on the NMU campus. The other location will be in the Shiras Room of the Peter White Public Library in Marquette. Tax assistance will be provided Sunday afternoons from 1pm to 4pm from February 9th until April 13th, and one Saturday, April 12th. Each filer must bring photo identification, a social security card for each relevant party, any relevant documentation of wages or income (W2, 1099-T), and a copy of last year?s return.
