Calumet– The Fourth Thursday in History: Sixth Annual High School Local History Smackdown will be held on Thursday, April 24 from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Calumet Theatre on 6th Street in Calumet.
The fast-paced competition will have high school teams answering questions about local history, geography, and geology, with a panel of four judges checking answers. Two wrong answers will put a team out of play. The last team standing will get the travaling Smackdown trophy and bragging rights.
The event is free and open to the public, as part of the Fourth Thursday in History Series sponsored by Keweenaw National History Park and many local businesses.
