MARQUETTE, MICHIGAN – Peter White Public Library invites film fans to a BYO Dinner Theater event on Thursday, April 10 at 5:30 pm to enjoy a screening of “All Is Lost” in the library’s Community room.
Deep into a solo voyage in the Indian Ocean, an unnamed man, played by Robert Redford, wakes to find his 39-foot yacht taking on water after a collision with a shipping container left floating on the high seas. Using only a sextant and nautical maps to chart his progress, he is forced to rely on ocean currents to carry him into a shipping lane in hopes of hailing a passing vessel. But with the sun unrelenting, sharks circling and his meager supplies dwindling, the ever-resourceful sailor soon finds himself staring his mortality in the face.
Golden Globe and New York Film Critics Circle Awards winner, “All Is Lost” is a gripping, visceral and powerfully moving tribute to ingenuity and resilience. It was released in November 2013, is rated PG and runs for 102 minutes.
BYO Dinner Theater welcomes the public to bring their own takeout supper and enjoy this recently released feature film, in a dinner theater setting. There is no admission charge thanks to sponsorship by the Friends of the Peter White Public Library. For more information visit www.pwpl.info or call 226-4318.
