Bluesday Tuesday welcomes local band, Travis Swanson and the Midnight Movers, in a live concert on Tuesday, March 25 at 7:00 pm in the Peter White Public Library Community Room. A U.P. native, Travis Swanson has worked with several local bands, including the swing-roots-blues ensemble Mike Letts & The Marquettes, the funk-R&B-jazz-rap combo Step Love, and his own trio, Travis & The St. Lous.
Influenced by blues, soul, and jazz greats, along with Hank Williams and Bob Dylan – Swanson has played in Chicago and Los Angeles, then worked his way across Arizona and Texas to Florida, and north through Missouri and Iowa, and even performed in Europe. Presently he is back in Michigan to finish his university studies and is gigging with The Marquettes and with this new blues-and-soul group, Travis Swanson and The Midnight Movers. There is no admission charge to attend the event which is co-sponsored by the Marquette Area Blues Society and the Carroll Paul Memorial Trust Fund of the Peter White Public Library.
