MARQUETTE, MICHIGAN – Support for music education is on the menu later this month at the Ore Dock Brewing Company. The local business will be the stage for the first Annual Music Event hosted by Music For All Kids (MFAK) on Sunday, March 23 from 5:00-8:00 p.m.
The inaugural event will feature live performances by Troy Grahm and friends, Mike Waite, Jeff Krebs, Bryan Drewyor, Robin and Shane, The Day Dreamers and the MFAK bands from both Graveraet and North Star Academy. There will also be a live auction, t-shirts for sale, and other fun activities throughout the night. The event is open to all ages and a donation at the door is encouraged to help support the program.
Dedicated to the advancement of children ages 5-18, MFAK is a local nonprofit that uses a four-step continuum to teach children the fundamentals of music while improving their leadership skills and boosting their confidence. MFAK instructors go through training before they begin teaching, and are currently teaching at Graveraet Alternative School and North Star Academy. They also offer private lessons at McDonalds Music. Studies show that 90% of children involved in mentorship and arts programs are more academically successful and are happier children. MFAK provides instruments to all children in the program. Instrument donations can be dropped off at McDonalds Music.
